- Launched GiveDirectly’s office in Yemen as the first Country Director, grew the team from 0 to 27 staff, and distributed $5m+ to Yemen’s poorest households
- Campaigned with the California Public Banking Alliance to create a state-owned bank to unlock billions of dollars in cheap credit for affordable housing, green energy and small business loans
- Built a venture-backed advertising platform as founding CEO for local businesses to attract new customers and grow their businesses
- Writing about public ownership of privatized infrastructure in the UK, the failure of the financial inclusion industry, Yemeni entrepreneurship in NYC, and a bunch of other stuff.
